BBC TO COVER PUBLIC HEARINGS

BBC SCOTLAND is to provide extensive coverage of the Holyrood Inquiry including live coverage via the internet.

Three BBC Scotland cameras will film the proceedings, which start on Tuesday October 28 at 10am.

A spokesperson for BBC Scotland said: “Events will be closely monitored and reported by BBC Scotland’s news team on radio and television, with Reporting Scotland, Politics Scotland, Good Morning Scotland and Newsdrive keeping viewers and listeners fully informed of all developments.

“Newsnight Scotland will provide more detailed, in-depth analysis of proceedings in its regular Monday to Thursday slot at 11pm on BBC TWO Scotland.”

A direct link for live coverage of the Holyrood inquiry can be accessed by logging on to www.bbc.co.uk/scotlandnews

From the outset, Lord Fraser said he wanted the Inquiry to be conducted in public with the maximum degree of openness and transparency.

A spokesperson for the Inquiry said: “We are aware of the huge interest in the Inquiry. The size of the venue does restrict the number of people who can attend but the BBC coverage and internet link will open the proceedings to a much wider audience.”
