The UK Government published a Welfare Reform Bill on 17 February 2011 following on from an initial consultation paper "21st Century Welfare" published on 30 July 2010 and a White Paper launched on 11 November 2010.
Although reform of welfare benefits is a reserved matter for UK Parliament, some measures impact on devolved services such as Health, Social Care and Housing delivered by the Scottish Government and local authorities.
The Scottish Government is therefore working to understand these impacts and the consequences of welfare reform for groups, individuals and communities across Scotland.
